A detail that often catches people off guard. But instead of correcting it, we choose to embrace it.
The K becomes a defining mark: unexpected, off-script, quietly sure of itself. A small deviation with character — and the perfect symbol for a brand that follows its own path.

We began as Andrea and Carlotta.
We imagined TRAKATAN as the sound of an energy and gave it the shape of a hand-stitched leather bag.
In 2012, we said to ourselves, “We Can Do It.”
So we decided to take over a historic leather goods company in Turin, founded in 1942.
Our goal was to produce independently and to absorb the traditional artisan techniques preserved since the early 1940s.
Drawing on tradition and experience, we worked relentlessly, with a long-term and independent vision.
Ten years, two moves, two children, and dozens of collections later, our first ten years have lasted like eighty.

Today Trakatan is a design studio with an artisan workshop in Torino.
Since 2012 we’ve been designing and making limited series — focusing on bags, accessories, and leather goods. Objects made to move through time, not seasons. Each piece emerges from an ongoing dialogue between thought and hand, form and function, innovation and inherited techniques.
We offer you a way to align your values with your purchases, choosing real quality and true craftsmanship with awareness. We create long-lasting objects because we believe the best form of sustainability is producing less, but better.
Why us?
Because we are intentionally small.
We produce around 1,200 bags a year. Could we make more? Yes. Do we want to? No.
Because we are Mediterranean.
Warm, imperfect by choice. Leather ages, hands leave their marks. It’s beauty, not a flaw.
Because we are honest.
Certified vegetable-tanned leather, a traceable supply chain, lifetime repairs. The rest, we’re still improving. And we tell you.
Because we are open.
