Since 2012, Via Mantova 9 has been our address. This is where we design and build.

Three artisans, one cutting table, sewing machines and tools that are over fifty years old. Vegetable-tanned leather from Tuscany. Essential geometries.Hands that know exactly what they are doing.

Both a design studio and a leather workshop, Via Mantova is the place where our lives spend most of their time. Its walls hold our achievements and the lessons we’ve learned. It’s the air we breathe, regenerated by plants. It’s where ideas are brought back down to earth and turned into real objects.

Here, we don’t just make bags.

We shape objects that hold life, memory, and meaning — crafted with care, together with our community, and guided by our commitment to do less, do better, and make things that last.

Trakatan stands between design and making, between form and function.

We are not just a leather workshop — we are a studio where design meets hands-on craft. We don’t follow seasons — we design geometries meant to endure.

Leather carries natural variations. Stitching is visible.
We don’t seek industrial perfection, but artisanal beauty — the kind that comes from hands at work.

We are not 100% sustainable (that would be impossible), but we use certified vegetable-tanned leather, we repair instead of replacing, and we design for decades of use.

Because we believe craftsmanship should live in the present — not only preserve the past.

From material selection to design, from prototyping to the art of turning function into beauty.

Idea, design, prototype, pattern, cutting, assembly, stitching, inspection. Everything is made in our Turin workshop and carries the name of the person who created it, the date, and its origins.

We only produce what we can make without compromise.
Doing less, but better, is the most honest form of ecology.

Leather is a natural, timeless material, recovered as a by-product of the food industry. Its qualities make it superior to many alternatives: durability, comfort, beauty, softness, and strength.
